Job Summary
Requirements & Qualifications
Responsibilities:
- Perform inspections on in-process aircraft builds, aircraft testing, maintenance and completed aircraft inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
- Identify and document defects, non-conformities, or deviations from quality standards and build specifications.
- Conduct root cause analysis and collaborate with relevant teams to implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Maintain accurate records of in-process aircraft builds, aircraft testing, maintenance, test results, and corrective actions taken.
- Monitor production processes to identify opportunities for improvement and ensure adherence to quality procedures.
- Train production staff on quality standards, inspection techniques, and best practices.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to quality control.
- Participate in cross-functional teams to support continuous improvement initiatives and drive quality excellence across the organization.
Requirements:
- Have or have held an aircraft maintenance Engineer’s license or Aviation related trade with relevant experience.
- Proven experience in quality control or assurance.
- Strong understanding of quality management systems, methodologies, and tools.
- Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements and quality standards (ISO, SACAA regulations).
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to identify root causes of quality issues and implement effective solutions.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and precision in inspection and documentation.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in using quality control software and tools for data analysis and reporting.
- Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Aircraft Maintenance Engineer’s license or Aviation related trade with relevant experience.
- Knowledge of statistical analysis techniques and quality improvement methodologies.
- Experience in conducting internal and external audits.
- Familiarity with risk management principles and tools (FMEA, risk assessment).
- Familiarity with root cause analysis tools (Bow tie, Fishbone, 5w).
- Familiarity with industry-specific quality standards and requirements.
