If so, this role offers the opportunity to shape a major transformation effort from the inside.
We are seeking a Senior Consultant – Functional Integration & Strategy to lead strategic alignment, enable functional integration, manage performance systems, and support organizational change across a large-scale mining operation.
Key Responsibilities:
Drive Strategic Alignment
- Connect programme initiatives to strategic business objectives
- Build and maintain strategy alignment maps
- Cascade KPIs from organizational strategy to operational metrics
- Ensure alignment between short-term performance and long-term ramp-up goals
Lead War Room & Performance Management
- Establish and manage a central War Room for programme oversight
- Integrate KPIs across the full mining value chain
- Develop visual management tools for senior leadership
- Track progress, highlight risks, and coordinate steering committee reviews
Enable Functional Integration
- Align support services (maintenance, engineering, planning, etc.) with operational transformation
- Facilitate integration across a matrix organizational structure
- Coordinate between mining operations and critical infrastructure functions
- Support contractor collaboration and Business Partner model implementation
Support Communications & Change Management
- Design and execute a comprehensive change and communication strategy
- Develop communication materials and targeted messages
- Facilitate leadership alignment, summits, and stakeholder sessions
- Manage engagement across internal teams and contractor groups
Optimize Organizational Structures & Operating Models
- Review and refine organizational structures to support transformation
- Co-design operating models and management routines
- Develop and roll out leadership and management meeting structures
- Ensure structures are fit for current needs and future ramp-up
Shape Values, Culture & Leadership Behaviour
- Integrate organizational values into transformation activities
- Support development of aligned behaviours and cultural expectations
- Strengthen safety culture and embed leadership accountability
Job Experience & Skills Required (Ideal Candidate Profile):
Essential Experience
- 12+ years in the mining industry, with significant strategic or transformation experience
- Proven track record leading large-scale organizational change
- Deep understanding of mining value chains and functional interdependencies
- Strong experience with KPI cascading, performance systems, and War Room structures
- Skilled in communication, change management, and senior stakeholder engagement
- Experience working closely with senior leadership teams
Highly Advantageous
- Experience in fully integrated mining operations (mine-to-mill)
- Experience in African mining environments
- Exposure to contractor/Business Partner operating models
- Experience in ramp-up, turnaround, or recovery projects
- Certification in change management (e.g., Prosci)
Qualifications
- Degree in Engineering, Business, Organisational Development, or related field
- MBA or postgraduate qualification in strategy or change (advantageous)
- Certification in change management or organizational development
