About the Role
Hire Resolve’s client, a South African company specializing in rigid plastic packaging solutions, is seeking a Setter to join their team in Philippi, Western Cape. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and rectifying technical issues on assigned production equipment, ensuring optimal machine availability and maintenance intervals.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, report and rectify all technical areas of concern on assigned production equipment (machines, moulds, etc.)
- Have an in-depth understanding of Product and its quality criteria
- Process (material feeding and drying, injection moulding, reheat stretch blow moulding and injection blow moulding)
- General knowledge of all equipment, detailed for assigned equipment
- Mould installation
- Technical principles and drawings (e.g. assemblies and spare parts finding, pneumatic, hydraulic, electric)
- Liaise with Maintenance Manager & Production Manager to ensure machine availability vs. major maintenance intervals
- Have an overview of what needs to be done and report to Maintenance Manager & Production Manager
- Give completion dates and fulfill tasks required by Maintenance Manager & Production Manager
Requirements
- 5 years relevant setting experience
- Minimum N2 in Tool, Jig & Die trade theory and trade tested (red seal), preferable
- Sound understanding of drawings
- Sound knowledge on H&S and safe working procedures
