Job Summary
Our Client, a leader in Private Healthcare is looking for a Unit Manager for Theatre.
Requirements:
- Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse,
- Post Basic Diploma in Operating Theatre Technique,
- 5 years Operational Experience in a Theatre Unit,
- Scrub experience in Cardiothoracic Neurosurgery and or Ophthalmology will be advantageous,
- Previous experience in a management position will be advantageous,
- Knowledge of the legislative and Occupational Health and Safety requirements,
- Valid Driver’s licence and ability to travel
- Afterhours availability – own transport
- Work flextime
- Excellent Leadership qualities and mentoring skills
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, organisational and problem-solving skills,
- The skill to manage nursing standards and in-service training,
- Build sound working relationships with multidisciplinary team,
- Accurate record keeping and the management of stock,
- Commitment to initiate and implement continuous improvement projects,
- Excellent MS Office computer skills, i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.
