About the Role

As a Store Manager at our premium retail store, you will be responsible for delivering an exceptional customer experience that reflects our brand’s premium positioning. You will build and maintain meaningful relationships with regular customers, drive sales, and ensure all staff consistently deliver our service standard.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver an exceptional, personalized customer experience across all tableware, gift, and lifestyle categories
  • Build and maintain meaningful relationships with regular customers to drive loyalty and repeat visits
  • Actively drive sales through walk-ins, loyalty programs, e-commerce, and corporate clients
  • Handle customer queries, complaints, and returns professionally in compliance with the Consumer Protection Act
  • Ensure all staff consistently deliver our service standard
  • Manage day-to-day store operations including opening and closing procedures, till float management, and daily cash-up
  • Maintain accurate records and submit the monthly turnover report to the owner by the 7th of each month
  • Oversee the ERP and point-of-sale system, processing sales, returns, exchanges, and stock adjustments accurately
  • Liaise with Shopping Centre Management on operational matters as required
  • Receive, count, and verify all incoming stock against purchase orders, including air freight deliveries from European suppliers
  • Conduct regular stock counts and cycle counts, identifying and investigating variances
  • Monitor stock levels and alert the owner to low stock, slow-moving items, and reorder requirements
  • Apply price tags and security tags to all stock in accordance with company procedures
  • Implement and maintain our visual merchandising standards across all displays
  • Refresh window displays and in-store vignettes regularly to reflect new arrivals, seasons, and promotions
  • Manage signage, pricing displays, and promotional material in line with brand guidelines
  • Uphold the sensory experience of the store from lighting, fragrance, to music and atmosphere at all times

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years retail experience, with at least 1 year in a Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager role
  • Proven experience in premium, luxury, or lifestyle retail; homeware, gifts, fashion, beauty, or comparable sectors
  • Demonstrated track record of driving sales, managing KPIs, and achieving targets
  • Strong inventory management experience; stock receiving, counts, ERP, or POS systems
  • Experience managing and developing a small retail team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Sound numerical literacy; comfortable with daily cash-up, margin calculations, and reporting

The Store Manager is responsible for the overall performance, profitability, and operational excellence of the store. This includes driving sales, delivering exceptional customer experiences aligned with the company’s brand, leading and developing the store team, and ensuring full compliance with company policies, procedures, and retail standards. Drive store sales to achieve and exceed set targets. Actively lead by example on the sales floor, engaging customers and closing sales. Analyse sales reports, trends, and KPIs to identify opportunities for growth. Implement promotional activities and visual merchandising standards in line with brand guidelines. Recruit, onboard, train, and develop store staff. Create and manage staff schedules to ensure optimal coverage. Motivate, coach, and manage performance of the team. Conduct performance discussions and implement corrective action where required. Ensure adherence to company disciplinary, attendance, and HR policies. Oversee daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures. Ensure accurate cash handling, banking, and reconciliation. Maintain stock integrity through effective stock control, cycle counts, and shrinkage prevention. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and security requirements. Manage stock levels to ensure availability while minimising overstock. Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies. Ensure correct processing of transfers, deliveries, and customer orders. Complete daily, weekly, and monthly reports accurately and on time. Communicate operational challenges and performance updates to management. Maintain accurate records in line with company procedures.
