Key Responsibilities: – Assist the mechanic in servicing and repairing heavy duty trucks and petrol passenger vehicles. – Perform vehicle maintenance tasks as directed by senior mechanics. – Conduct routine troubleshooting and diagnostic tests on vehicles. – Support the maintenance of workshop cleanliness, order, and proper tool conditions. – Travel to perform breakdown and roadside assistance when required. – Be available on standby for emergency repairs, as per roster. – Uphold strict standards of honesty and integrity, particularly regarding the handling of onsite diesel storage. – Provide support for various mechanical tasks, as instructed. Essential Qualifications & Experience: – Minimum: High School Diploma (Grade 12). – At least 2 years’ experience as a Mechanic Assistant or in a similar mechanical support role. – Valid Code 14 Driver’s License is required. – Demonstrated ability to work on both heavy duty trucks and petrol passenger vehicles. – Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. – Ability to perform in high-pressure and deadline-driven environments. – Proven professionalism and strong work ethic. – Strong employment references. – No criminal record. Salary & Benefits: – Competitive monthly salary: R12,000 to R15,000. – Additional benefits will be discussed with shortlisted candidates.
