About the Role

We are seeking a focused and hands-on Commis Chef to join our fast-moving production kitchen in Woodstock, Cape Town. As part of our luxury brand, we produce premium, small-batch ice cream for retail stores and restaurant partners. Our kitchen runs on structure, timing, and teamwork, with an emphasis on precision, batch control, recipe accuracy, and consistency at scale.

Key Responsibilities

  • Weighing and preparing ingredients accurately
  • Assisting with daily ice cream production
  • Supporting baked elements and flavour components
  • Keeping your section clean, organised and compliant
  • Following food safety and hygiene standards strictly
  • Assisting with stock rotation (FIFO) and deliveries
  • Maintaining production discipline and consistency

Requirements

  • 12 years in a professional kitchen or production environment
  • Culinary qualification advantageous but not essential
  • Naturally detail-oriented
  • Reliable and physically able to handle a production environment
  • Comfortable with repetition and process
  • Positive attitude and team mindset
