Job Summary
Key Responsibilities:
-
Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, desserts, breads, and other baked goods daily
-
Develop and innovate dessert menus in line with seasonal ingredients
-
Ensure consistent quality, presentation, and taste of all pastry items
-
Manage inventory and ordering of pastry-related supplies and ingredients
-
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry kitchen according to hygiene and safety standards
-
Collaborate with the executive chef and kitchen team to coordinate menus and service
-
Train and mentor junior kitchen staff on pastry preparation and techniques
-
Monitor and control food costs, minimizing wastage
Qualifications & Experience:
-
Formal culinary qualification in pastry arts or baking preferred
-
Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a pastry chef in a hotel, lodge, or high-end restaurant environment
-
Strong knowledge of classic and contemporary pastry techniques
-
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines during service times
-
Good organizational skills and attention to detail
-
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
-
Passion for creating high-quality, visually appealing desserts
