Responsibilities:
Manage the company’s fleet of construction equipment consisting of Big Plant and Small Plant. Coordinate between company Projects and the workshop to ensure inter-company plant admin is maintained. Manage utilisation of all construction equipment against hours booked and or used for hired equipment Within the company for owned equipment and its correct utilisation and application on projects Manage Preventative Maintenance and Servicing with the Workshop Manager. Coordinate big plant breakdowns with Workshop Manager, advise on equipment warrantees and service agreements. Manage the procurement and replacement of major and minor equipment items with company management in line with set targets and forward planning Advises best practice applications of construction equipment on projects with Contracts Managers and Construction Managers. Manage all equipment related insurance matters Review, update, and manage insurance policy. Manage equipment related insurance claims Responsible for arranging all equipment rentals for projects in liaison with Contract Managers / Site Managers to ensure best price and machines fit for purpose are rented. Manage equipment rental administration with workshop admin team and Workshop Manager. Manage, agree, and enforce Equipment Hire Terms with Hiring Companies Manage and coordinate operator deployment for rental equipment Manage rental plant operators for compliance purposes Manage diesel and other fuel purchasing, stock levels, fuel control and reporting to management. Manage fleet diesel cards Manage the issuing of vehicle policies for company vehicles Co-ordinate the allocation of vehicles with Directors Manage Purchasing, Selling and Replacement of LDV’s Manage Cartrack and usage of company vehicles. Manage and Co-ordinate plant movement to and from sites Manage permit applications for load-beds Manage deployment of mechanics with the Workshop Manager for breakdowns Manage workshop staff and workshop admin Co-ordinate long term Site deployment of Mechanics with Directors Manage Recruitment of Operators Manage Testing of Operators for Competency Managing of Operator certifications, medicals and contracts of employment Manage Operator deployment within the company Manage disciplinary procedures for workshop and plant related staff. Education and Experience: Bachelors Degree / Diploma (or equivalent) in operations management / logistics and or fleet management or similar At least 5 years experience in a Plant Manager position within Civil Engineering / Construction environment Additional
