We have two exciting opportunities for qualified professionals to provide crucial emotional support and trauma-informed care to learners in local schools.ResponsibilitiesProvide individual or group counseling sessions for learners in distress, within your scope of practice.Deliver crisis containment sessions and refer learners to relevant support organizations when necessary.Facilitate awareness sessions and provide feedback to parents and teachers.Collaborate with school-based teams and external stakeholders to ensure effective interventions.Compile and share trauma-informed resources to empower teachers in managing crises.Maintain detailed records, prepare monthly reports, and engage in regular team meetings.RequirementsHonors degree in Psychology with completed internship, or a Play Therapist/Social Worker with relevant experience.Minimum of 2 years counseling or play therapy experience.Fluency in Afrikaans and English.Knowledge of and experience working in the Knysna community is essential.Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and crisis intervention skills.Self-motivated and able to manage competing priorities.Valid drivers license and own transport.If youre passionate about making a difference in the lives of learners and fostering trauma-informed.
