Job Title: Research & Development Project Engineer
Responsibilities:
- Assist and Support the R+D Manager on delivering company projects from initial conception to final completion, ensuring the projects are accurately completed to schedule.
- Support Design and Project Engineers on the delivery of their projects become secondary contact for clients when necessary and ensuring contract fulfilment.
- Determines project specifications, schedule and responsibilities, by reviewing the project brief and objectives, identifying company requirements conferring with the management team.
- Executing detailed designs in 3D of products from initiation right through to manufacturing level drawings
- Maintain financial diligence through the execution of budget and cost control
- Manage suppliers and contractors to maintain project schedule by monitoring progress, coordinating activities and resolving problems.
- Evaluates systems and products by designing and conducting testing programmes
- Prepares data by collecting, analysing and summarising information for installation, testing, quality, packing, and weekly reports.
- Attending weekly update meetings with management and across other teams of the company, actively taking part and reporting on activities
- Researching and applying relevant UK standards for the design of products
Requirements
Skill and Background required:
- Extremely fluent English and communication skills
- Competence and some level of qualification in engineering
- Experience in a research and development role
- Good understanding of UK compliance standards
- Demonstrated leadership experience.
- Proactive in task management and able to set and manage own tasks in view of meeting a project deadline
- Experience in a technical role involving project planning and cost control
- Experience with CAD modelling and drawings with experience in design. (Solidworks or Inventor)
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes including, machining and fabrication
Benefits
Location: Fully Remote
Working Hours: Mon – Fri 7 am – 4:30 pm UK time
Salary Range: R35 000 – R40 000
