About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled General Ledger Accountant to join our finance team in Cape Town CBD. As a key member of our financial operations, you will be responsible for maintaining control across the ledger and ensuring accuracy and completeness in financial reporting and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and manage the general ledger
- Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and provisions
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
- Ensure compliance with IFRS and internal financial policies
- Prepare and support financial reporting and analysis
- Work closely with internal stakeholders across finance and operations
- Support audit processes and provide required documentation
Requirements
- BCom Degree with completed SAICA articles
- Open to non-CA(SA) candidates
- Minimum 5 years experience in a general ledger or similar role
- Strong technical accounting skills (IFRS)
- Experience working on IFS ERP system (advantageous)
- Industry exposure open, with geo-services/engineering environments preferred
Qualifications
- Formal education/certifications: BCom Degree from a recognised institution with completed SAICA articles.
