Hire Resolve`s client is seeking an experienced Production Manager in the Plastics Industry to join their dynamic team in Cape Town, Western Cape. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the production process, ensuring operational efficiency, and maintaining high-quality standards while managing resources effectively.

 

Responsibilities:

• Manage the production process to ensure smooth operation and high-quality output of plastic products.
• Oversee and coordinate production schedules to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations to promote a safe working environment.
• Monitor equipment performance and implement maintenance schedules to avoid production interruptions.
• Lead and develop the production team, providing training and support to improve skills and productivity.
• Analyze production data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain effective communication with other departments to streamline operations and ensure alignment with company objectives.
• Prepare and manage production budgets and reports, tracking progress against targets.
• Ensure the proper inventory management of raw materials and finished goods.
• Implement lean manufacturing principles to enhance productivity and reduce waste.

Requirements:

• Bachelor`s Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in production management within the plastics industry.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and techniques in plastics.
• Proven leadership skills with experience in managing and developing a team.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Experience with continuous improvement methodologies, such as Lean or Six Sigma, is an advantage.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

• To learn key processes, layouts of services, production processes, and production flow layouts.
• To learn the automation of machines and the manufacturing procedures.
• To ensure compliance with all Safety, Health, and hygiene legislative requirements and company policies and procedures.
• To ensure that staff is trained, equipped, and motivated through effective staff management processes.
• To monitor costs to ensure operations are within budget and to maximise investment and utilization of resources.

Key

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Engineering, Business Management, or Operations Management
• 5-8 years management experience in an FMCG production environment and /or technical experience in Operations
• Intensive knowledge of relevant legislation (HACCP, OSH Act, BCEA, EE, and SD)
• Extensive Project Management experience
