Job Summary
What’s in a Day’s Work?
- Supervise and manage the finance team, ensuring clarity of roles, responsibilities, and performance expectations.
- Foster a positive and productive work environment through effective communication and collaboration.
- Provide coaching, training, and development opportunities to enhance team skills and performance.
- Ensure adherence to departmental policies and procedures by all finance team members.
Financial Operations and Support
- Assist in preparing financial statements, budget forecasts, and reports.
- Handle accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
- Perform monthly reconciliations, monitor cash flow, and maintain accurate financial records.
System and Software Management
- Use SUN accounting software to record and manage financial transactions.
- Support the integration and operation of Micros Materials Control software with financial systems.
- Utilize the Opera property management system for financial reporting.
Compliance and Internal Controls
- Ensure adherence to Hilton and Valor Hospitality Partners’ financial policies and procedures.
- Assist in maintaining effective internal controls to safeguard assets and manage financial risks.
- Collaborate with external auditors during financial audits.
Cost and Budget Management
- Assist in preparing budgets and monitoring expenses to ensure cost control.
- Support the identification of cost-saving opportunities and implementation of financial improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting, within the hospitality industry.
- Proficiency in SUN accounting software is essential.
- Experience with Opera property management and Micros Materials Control systems.
Skills
- Strong people management and leadership abilities, with experience supervising a team.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
- Proficiency in financial management tools and software.
Preferred Candidate
- Indian National with relevant hospitality accounting experience.
- Previous working experience in Africa is an advantage.
