JOB CONTEXT:
We are seeking an experienced Workshop Manager that will play a pivotal role in leading and managing all workshop operations with a specific focus on electrical motor rewinding and armature winding processes. This role is critical in ensuring the efficient turnaround of repair and maintenance jobs while upholding high-quality standards and safety compliance. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise in armature winding and motor repairs, combined with proven leadership capabilities to manage a team of technicians and artisans.
This position supports the operational goals of the business by optimizing workshop workflows, maintaining inventory levels, ensuring timely delivery of client projects, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. As the central point of coordination between the technical team, clients, and management, the Workshop Manager is instrumental in ensuring customer satisfaction, technical excellence, and operational efficiency.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage and supervise a team of armature winding technicians.
- Oversee armature winding operations, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards.
- Develop and implement workshop processes and procedures to improve efficiency and productivity.
- Conduct quality control checks on armature windings.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
- Manage inventory and procurement of materials and equipment.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operations.
- Provide training and development opportunities for team members.
Skills Requirements:
- Proven experience in armature winding and workshop management.
- Strong technical knowledge of armature winding principles and practices.
- Excellent leadership and management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Electrical engineering or related qualification
- Experience with electrical motor repair and maintenance
- Knowledge of industry-specific software and equipment/
Package & Remuneration:
Will be agreed based on qualifications, applicable Automotive / Panel beater experience and previous earnings.
