Job Summary
Our client in George is looking to hire a vibrant Kitchen Manager with excellent staff leadership skills, strong admin ability, and a deep understanding of kitchen flow and FOH operations. This is a daytime position for a breakfast and lunch restaurant, 6 days a week.
Key Responsibilities:

Supervise all kitchen staff and coordinate kitchen activities.

Ensure food is prepared consistently and according to company recipes and quality standards.
-
Schedule and manage kitchen staff shifts, including hiring, training, and performance management.
-
Monitor food costs, portion control, and minimize waste.
-
Maintain kitchen cleanliness and comply with food safety regulations (e.g., HACCP standards).
-
Manage inventory, place orders, and receive deliveries while ensuring stock rotation.
-
Collaborate with the front-of-house team to ensure seamless service and resolve any kitchen-related issues.
-
Maintain kitchen equipment and arrange repairs or replacements as needed.
-
Report to management regularly on kitchen performance, costs, and staff issues.
Requirements: Education & Qualifications:
-
High school diploma or equivalent required.
-
Culinary degree or relevant certification is an advantage.
Experience:
-
Minimum 3 years experience in a supervisory kitchen role.
-
Proven experience managing a team in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
-
Experience with inventory management and cost control.
Skills & Competencies:
-
Strong leadership and communication skills.
-
Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
-
Solid understanding of food safety regulations and procedures.
-
Proficiency in kitchen operations and standard food preparation techniques.
-
Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
Technical Skills:
-
Experience with Pilot or similar restaurant management software is a strong advantage (e.g., for inventory tracking, ordering, scheduling, and reporting).

Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Office, email, etc.).
Working Conditions:
-
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
