Job Summary
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines using Databricks and Oracle technologies.
- Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and ETL processes to ensure efficient data movement and transformation.
- Integrate and ingest data from various source systems into data lake/data warehouse environments.
- Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver high-quality datasets.
- Implement data quality checks and ensure integrity, consistency, and availability of data.
- Monitor and troubleshoot performance issues in both on-premise and cloud data platforms.
- Contribute to the development and enforcement of data engineering standards and best practices.
- Assist in the migration of legacy systems to modern cloud-based architectures.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.
- Hands-on experience with Oracle (PL/SQL, performance tuning, data modeling).
- Strong working knowledge of Databricks (including PySpark, Delta Lake, notebooks, and job orchestration).
- Experience in an insurance company.
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, and/or Scala.
- Experience with data pipeline orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, Azure Data Factory).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP), preferably Azure.
