Hire Resolves client in the Logistics Industry is urgently seeking the expertise of a Shipping Officer (Exports & Imports) to join their team in Gauteng.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the entire shipping process for both imports and exports, including the coordination of necessary documentation, customs clearance, and freight forwarding
• Manage and develop relationships with shipping suppliers, ensuring timely availability of shipping containers and negotiating favorable rates
• Collaborate with internal teams to establish efficient shipping procedures and optimize logistics operations
• Monitor shipment schedules and track deliveries to ensure on-time delivery and resolve any issues that may arise
• Handle the preparation and processing of shipping documentation, including invoices, bills of lading, and packing lists
• Conduct regular audits of shipping processes and vendor performance to identify areas for improvement and cost savings
• Stay up-to-date with international shipping regulations and ensure compliance with all legal requirements and standards

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in shipping, preferably within the international movers industry
• Strong knowledge of import and export regulations, customs documentation, and freight forwarding processes
• Proficient in using shipping software and systems, as well as Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
• Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple shipments simultaneously
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure
• Proactive and self-motivated, with a demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
