<p><strong>Luxury Wellness Retreat & Hotel</strong> close to <strong>Franschhoek</strong> is looking for a <strong>Duty Manager / Host.</strong></p><p>The suitable candidate plays a <strong>central role</strong> in holding the <strong>rhythm </strong>and <strong>standard</strong> of the guest journey.</p><p>This role calls for <strong>intuition, care </strong>and <strong>deep accountability</strong>. While operational excellence is essential, it is the candidates <strong>ability to read the energy </strong>of the day, tend to the <strong>needs of</strong> <strong>guests</strong> and ensure <strong>their journey flows </strong>with<strong> ease</strong> and i<strong>ntegrity</strong> that defines success in this position.</p><p><strong>Duties:</strong></p><p><strong>Guest Experience & Hosting:</strong></p><p>Ensuring every detail of guest stay is thoughtfully supported, beautifully executed and energetically held.</p><p>Act as guests anchor during their stay, responsible for translating the intention into lived experience.</p><p>Warmly welcome and orientate guests on arrival</p><p>Hold and guide the flow of check-ins and check-outs</p><p>Ensure all departments are aligned for guest arrivals and key rituals</p><p>Conduct final room checks in collaboration with the Housekeeping Manager</p><p>Update bookings, guest records and manage extensions changes of stay</p><p>Schedule or adjust rituals, rhythms and experiences during a guest's stay</p><p>Liaise with external practitioners where needed</p><p>Coordinate additional activities, transfers and reservations</p><p>Oversee readiness of public guest spaces, alongside the Housekeeping Manager</p><p>Ensure guest purchases from the Farm Shop and Atelier are processed and recorded with care</p><p>Maintain and manage guest golf cart cleanliness and readiness</p><p><strong>House & Daily Flow Oversight:</strong></p><p>Serve as the connection point between guests and internal teams</p><p>Guide the daily rhythm and energy of the house in collaboration with department leads</p><p>Identify and report maintenance issues and follow through to resolution</p><p>Maintain awareness of house environment, flow, and guest presence</p><p>Support activity setups and shared spaces with attentiveness and foresight</p><p>Hold a calm, clear presence within the team, flag concerns or tensions early and constructively</p><p>Ensure alignment with the standards and spirit of Sterrekopje in all touchpoints</p><p><strong>Stock & Ordering Oversight:</strong></p><p>Oversees several essential inventory and ordering functions to ensure the house flows seamlessly and guest needs are anticipated.</p><p>Monthly stock takes of the Farm Shop and Operating Equipment (OE)</p><p>Weekly checks to identify replenishment needs</p><p>Maintain and update digital inventory records (Tall Order, Teams, etc.)</p><p>Place and manage orders for:</p><p> Guest stationery and amenities</p><p> Candles</p><p> Atelier Studio supplies</p><p> Specific guest requests or ad hoc items</p><p>Stock should be stewarded consciously balancing practicality with creativity, reducing waste, and ensuring readiness without excess.</p><p><strong>Guiding Principles:</strong></p><p>Embody the tone and values holding professionalism and presence in equal measure.</p><p>Acting with presence and integrity</p><p>Taking full accountability for responsibilities held</p><p>Leading with discernment and care</p><p>Working in harmony with the team</p><p><strong>Requirements:</strong></p><p>Matric</p><p>Tertiary qualification in Hospitality or Hotel Management</p><p>Minimum of 3 years Duty Manager or Assistant Hotel Management experience</p><p>Previous 5* Hotel experience</p><p>Certificate in First Aid/Fire Fighting/Health and Safety, would be advantageous</p><p>Valid Drivers license</p><p>Computer skills including proficiency in the use of Protel & MS Office</p><p>Sustainable quality and attention to detail</p><p>Innovation for results</p><p>Initiative and change agent</p><p>Teamwork, cross organisational collaboration and building high performance teams</p><p>Managing uncertainty (ambiguity) and adaptability</p><p>Ability to work shifts including night shift.</p><p>Personal and professional integrity of the highest standard</p><p>Preference will be given to candidates from Franschhoek and neighbouring areas</p><p> </p>
