Role Objectives
Perform high-quality welding and fabrication tasks to support the maintenance and repair of heavy vehicles, trailers, and earthmoving equipment within the sand, stone, and aggregates industry. Ensure all work meets technical standards, safety regulations, and operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications for fabrication and repair work
• Carry out welding on truck bodies, trailers, bins, and earthmoving equipment components
• Operate MIG, TIG, arc, and gas welding equipment safely and effectively
• Inspect welds and fabricated parts to ensure compliance with quality standards
• Maintain tools, machinery, and workstations in good working condition
• Collaborate with workshop teams to complete jobs on time and within specifications
• Uphold strict adherence to occupational health, safety, and environmental regulations

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as a welder in a transport, construction, or heavy equipment workshop
• Proficiency in multiple welding techniques (MIG, TIG, arc, oxy-acetylene)
• Ability to fabricate and repair structural steel and mechanical components
• Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate, durable welds
• Knowledge of metals, materials, and repair practices for heavy-duty equipment
• Ability to work under pressure, independently and as part of a team
• Strong focus on safety and quality control
