Our client in Merrivale is seeking a trade tested Diesel Mechanic to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional to work with diesel-powered heavy equipment in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and Repair: Identify and resolve mechanical and electrical issues on diesel-powered heavy equipment, including trucks, loaders, excavators, and other quarry machinery.
• Routine Maintenance: Perform essential maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, and thorough inspections to ensure optimal equipment performance.
• Safety Assurance: Ensure all equipment is maintained in a safe and operational condition, adhering to industry safety standards.
• Work Environment: Operate primarily in a workshop setting, with potential on-site work at the quarry as needed.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Trade Qualification: Must possess a trade-tested diesel mechanic qualification.
• Experience: Previous experience with heavy equipment, particularly in the quarry or construction industry, is highly advantageous.
• Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of diesel engine systems, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
• Manual Proficiency: Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics effectively.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently.
• Communication Skills: Good communication and organizational skills to work effectively within a team.
• Drivers License: A valid drivers license (preferably code EC) is required.
