Job Description

We are looking for a Junior Tax Administrator to provide support to our tax and accounting department. The role is a combination of administrative assistance and accounting support, and this candidate must be able to process tax returns and maintain databases.

The candidate must enjoy providing customer service and be reliable. A high attention to detail and excellent organizational skills are also important. We are looking for a team player with excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Submission of all income tax returns, including:
    • Personal tax returns
    • Company tax returns
    • Trust returns.
  • Handling of submission of provisional tax returns and payments.
  • Registering and deregistering all tax types
  • Liaising with clients on:
    • Tax queriesPayment of taxes
    • Personal tax calculations
    • Provisional taxes
  • Basic understanding of financial statements, as well as broader finance and accounting skills to liaise with role players and submit all applicable tax returns.
  • Reviewing tax assessments.
  • Preparation and submission of tax objections.
  • Handling SARS queries such as verifications and audits, and submission.
  • Administration of the tax processes of the firm, ensuring deadlines are met and SARS correspondence followed up, etc.
  • Keeping clients informed of their tax status and deadlines, etc.
  • Monthly accounting, VAT processing and payroll support including PAYE, UIF & WCA.


Requirements

        Grade 12 + 3 years experience in Taxation.

        Sound Basic knowledge of the Income Tax Act and Tax Administration Act.

        Practical experience in dealing with SARS (beneficial).

        Excellent computer skills.

        Previous experience working on Greatsoft Tax (beneficial)

        Sound Basic E-Filing knowledge.

        Fully bilingual: English and Afrikaans.
