Job Description
- Strategic Leadership:
- Drive the financial strategy aligned with corporate objectives and local market conditions.
- Serve as a key advisor to the MD and executive team on financial performance, risks, and opportunities.
- Support the development of expansion strategies, including investment, partnerships, and M&A activities.
- Financial Management & Reporting:
- Oversee all aspects of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis.
- Ensure compliance with local (OHADA) accounting standards and IFRS.
- Manage timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings and reporting.
- Present financial results and analysis to internal stakeholders and Board members.
- Governance, Risk & Compliance:
- Ensure full compliance with Senegalese tax regulations, central bank requirements, and all other local financial laws.
- Maintain and enhance internal control systems and risk management frameworks.
- Liaise with External Auditors, Tax Advisors, and Legal Counsel.
- Treasury & Cash Flow:
- Oversee cash flow management, working capital, and liquidity planning.
- Develop and maintain banking relationships and optimize capital structure.
- Monitor FX exposure and implement appropriate hedging or mitigation strategies.
- Team Management:
- Build and lead a high-performing local finance team.
- Provide coaching, training, and performance management to finance staff.
- Drive a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications & Experience (Essential):
- Chartered Accountant (CA, CPA, and ACCA) or equivalent.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration.
- Minimum of 10 years senior financial leadership experience, preferably in a multinational or emerging market environment.
- Previous experience working in Sub-Saharan Africa, ideally Francophone West Africa.
- Experience in industries such as Food Processing or Manufacturing.
- Proficient in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
- French language skills (professional proficiency).
- Experience reporting financials in accordance with US GAAP.
- Big 4 Audit experience preferred.
- Must have solid experience working in a multinational company.
