Johannesburg: Mechatronic Engineer (Mining Industry)

Mechatronic Engineer Benoni, Johannesburg Key Responsibilities Design and develop electromechanical systems and automated machinery. Integrate PLC, HMI, sensors, and control systems into mechanical designs. Perform system modelling, testing, and performance optimisation. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on design and integration projects. Provide technical support during manufacturing, assembly, and commissioning. Prepare detailed engineering drawings, documentation, and BOMs. Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and industry standards. Minimum Requirements BEng / BSc in Mechatronic or Mechanical Engineering . 35 years experience in machinery design or system integration . Proficiency in 3D CAD (SolidWorks or similar). Working knowledge of PLC systems and industrial automation . Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude . Willingness to travel to sites for installation and commissioning. Advantageous Experience in mining or mineral processing equipment design. Knowledge of instrumentation, sensors, and control networks (Profibus, Modbus). Exposure to EPLAN or other electrical design tools. Understanding of manufacturing processes and materials.
