Job Title: Commercial Underwriter

Reporting to: Underwriting ManagerSeniority Level: Mid Career (3-5 yrs exp)Type: PermanentDuties and Responsibilities:

• Good knowledge and understanding of the short term insurance industry legislation/regulations/compliance.
• Receive and finalise instructions from clients, brokers and all other stakeholders, as outlined in agreed service level agreement.
• Issue policy in accordance with the new business workflow process.
• Processing of quotes, new business, amendments and client queries.
• Action renewals, cancellation, endorsements and corrective action.
• Adhere to all internal and external processes, guidelines, mandates and service level agreements.
• Client retention.
• Proactive and the ability to work under pressure.
• Work independently and as part of a team.
• Build and maintain internal and external relationships.
• Maintain the company ethos and values.

Required Qualifications: RE 5, FETC In Short Term Insurance NQF 4, Matric, Class of Business Commercial LinesSkills: A minimum of 3-5 years commercial lines underwriting experience, Preferred system experience – TIAL Responsibilities, CPD Points
