Agent Sales Consultant Luxury African Safaris & Tours | Cape Town
Salary: R20,000 R25,000 basic per month, plus commission every 3 months (Negotiable DOE)
Kendrick Recruitment is seeking a dynamic and experienced Agent Sales Consultant to join a leading luxury African safaris and tours company based in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in safari sales, with the ability to handle complex itineraries, build client relationships, and consistently achieve sales targets.
Key Responsibilities:

Handle safari requests from agents, including planning, costing, and providing accurate information within required turnaround times

Meet and exceed individual, team, and company sales targets

Provide proactive and detailed responses to agent requests, offering itinerary design advice, logistical suggestions, and upselling opportunities

Follow booking procedures and complete all required documentation for confirmed safaris
-
Build and maintain strong relationships with both internal teams and external stakeholders
-
Follow up with agents post-travel to obtain feedback and ensure satisfaction

Identify opportunities to increase sales and contribute to the performance of the sales team

Report any issues or discrepancies to the line manager promptly

Provide proactive support to colleagues during peak or leave periods
Requirements & Qualifications:
-
Proven experience in Safari Sales, with knowledge of East Africa being an advantage
-
1015 years of experience within the broader hospitality and tourism industry
-
Strong understanding of the safari tourism environment and related logistics

Exposure to multiple aspects of the travel industry

Experience working with and meeting the demands of international markets

Proficiency with travel and reservation systems

Skilled in designing detailed and tailored travel itineraries

Excellent sales and upselling abilities

Strong communication skills with a client-focused mindset

Target-driven and able to perform in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment

Strong problem-solving and commercial acumen

Excellent administrative and organisational skills with attention to detail

Ability to work well under pressure and manage demanding situations

Willingness to handle issues outside of standard working hours when required

Capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a team

Energetic, professional, and eager to learn
Required Work Practices:

Promote the image of the sales team as best-in-class both internally and externally

Represent the company professionally and uphold its reputation as a leading safari operator

Attend all staff events held during working hours (compulsory attendance)

Participate in all required training and development programmes
Conditions & Working Hours:
-
Based in the Cape Town office, Monday to Friday, working 9 hours per day including a 1-hour lunch break
-
Flexible work-from-home arrangement available after the 3-month probation and training period (2 office days, 3 home days per week)

Working hours may be adjusted based on market requirements to accommodate real-time client interaction
-
Occasional work on South African public holidays may be required (time off in lieu provided)

Overtime may be necessary during peak seasons (compensated with time off in lieu)

Participation in the companys 24/7 emergency phone rotation (one week at a time)

Occasional travel for work purposes may be required
