Work Setup: Office-based, live-out – candidates must be based in JHB area About the Role A leading luxury safari and travel brand is seeking an International Sales Manager to join their head office team in Johannesburg. This is a pivotal role, requiring a commercially astute and dynamic individual with proven success in high-end tourism sales. The successful candidate will drive international sales performance, build key global relationships, and ensure revenue growth across the groups portfolio of luxury safari lodges, travel services, and destination management. This role suits a strategic yet hands-on leader who is passionate about luxury travel, able to operate at a senior sales management level, and confident representing the brand globally. Key Responsibilities Revenue Generation & Sales Strategy Drive sales performance across international markets, meeting and exceeding stretch revenue targets. Lead strategic sales initiatives, ensuring alignment with brand goals and business plans. Identify; penetrate, and grow target markets and client bases. Analyse market trends to influence sales and pricing strategies. Sales & Brand Representation Represent the brand at international trade shows, roadshows, and key partner events. Build and maintain strong relationships with high-value partners, agents, and clients worldwide. Deliver compelling presentations, proposals, and negotiations to secure business. Position the brand as a global leader in luxury safari and experiential travel. Sales Team & Partner Support Collaborate closely with international sales teams, ensuring best practice sharing and consistent communication. Mentor and develop junior sales professionals, contributing to skills growth across the business. Provide ongoing support to market teams through proposals, training, and client visits. Financial & Commercial Oversight Manage sales budgets, control expenditure, and report on ROI. Deliver timely and accurate sales forecasting and performance reporting. Achieve measurable results in revenue, profitability, and business growth. Health; Safety & Compliance Adhere to all workplace policies, procedures, and health and safety standards. Uphold brand values, company culture, and ethical business practices. Requirements & Experience Essential: Minimum 5 years senior-level experience in luxury travel sales, with exposure to international markets. Proven track record of achieving and exceeding ambitious sales targets. Strong understanding of the African safari and travel trade landscape. Excellent relationship-building and negotiation skills, with gravitas to engage high-net-worth clients and global trade partners. Demonstrated ability to manage complex sales cycles and multi-channel distribution. Strong commercial acumen with budgeting and financial oversight experience. Willingness and ability to travel internationally when required. Preferred / Advantageous: Degree or Diploma in Tourism, Hospitality, Sales, or Business Management. Exposure to digital sales strategies, CRM systems, and e-commerce channels. Previous experience working for a luxury safari lodge group, DMC, or global luxury travel brand.
