Job Description
Our client, operating in the Manufacturing Industry is looking to employ a Utility ‘2’ Operator to their team in Port Elizabeth.
Note: Candidates applying must be a qualified artisan – N4 or equivalent trade / artisan qualification. Requirements:
- Grade 12.
- N4 or equivalent trade / artisan qualification.
- 5 years experience in an automated factory environment.
- A thorough knowledge of process and ability to run hi tech machinery.
- Understanding of QMS systems and OHS Act.
Responsibilities:
Setting, Operating and Maintaining:
- Setting, operating and maintaining the following machines, as per suppliers operating manuals, including mould changes and start up: Plate enveloping machines, COS machines, Shorts Testing machines, TTP welding machines, Heat Sealing machines, Leak testing machines and Date Coding machines.
- Ensuring that the automatic and semi-automatic Post Burner equipment is correctly set up and maintained.
- Ensuring that each line of equipment produces the correct quality product at the nominal production rate for that equipment and taking corrective action if the quality is not correct.
- Ensuring that all assembly line equipment used is kept clean and safe.
- Ensuring that the cooling water system and all extraction systems are kept in the correct working condition.
Administration / Record Keeping:
- Complete the appropriate job cards for maintenance work and the production logs, attribute charts and SPC data as required in the assembly work instructions.
Communication:
- Engage professionally with all suppliers, customers, directors, management, peers and subordinates.
Quality:
- Ensure duties are performed in a professional manner at all times according to the customers requirements, standards and quality.
