About the company
A dynamic trade finance company specializing in tailored commercial lending solutions for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) which import or export goods overseas. 
They assist Customers with funding for the local buying or importation of inventory / raw materials as well as the movement, logistics and clearing of the goods into South Africa.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 35 years of experience in business development, sales, or relationship management in TRADE FINANCE with a focus on SME lending.
- Strong understanding of the SME funding landscape with customers who import or export
- Knowledge of inventory storage and inventory financing and invoice discounting
- Understand cross border import (and export financing) as well as financial settlement instruments like documentary credits, collections and guarantees
- Proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Finance, Business, or related field (preferred)
Role Overview
The successful candidate will be
- Identifying, engaging, and securing new SME clients for their Trade and Freight Solution
- Developing new business opportunities to grow the existing R30million book
- Building strong relationships with clients, partners, and industry influencers.
Please note that the successful candidate will be someone who enjoys taking the lead, sourcing / hunting for new business opportunities and above all, closing on deals.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively identify and acquire new SME clients through strategic outreach and
- Develop and manage a robust pipeline of qualified leads across various
- Promote commercial lending solutions, including working capital loans, asset finance, invoice finance, and revolving credit facilities.
- Conduct needs analysis and tailor funding solutions to meet client
- Build and maintain strong relationships with business owners, financial advisors, brokers, and referral partners.
- Achieve monthly and quarterly acquisition and revenue targets.
- Provide market feedback to influence product development and marketing strategies.
- Collaborate with internal credit and underwriting teams to ensure smooth deal execution
