KEY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Compile budgets and capital expenditure plans.
- Review financial targets, communicate and implement core group strategies and concepts.
- Leadership and personal development of team of Retail Operations Managers as direct reports.
- Adding value to the businesses of Independent Retailers.
- Establish, maintain Retailer sustainability.
- Manage Retailer relationships, manage and lead poor performing Retailers.
- Establish, maintain and enhance Retail relationships.
- Provide leadership to the support team.
- Acts as a Retail Advisory service encompassing Store Operations, HR, Finance, Logistics and Merchandising to Retailers.
- Aggressively drive sales in existing stores.
- Enhance the brand, image and success of the SPAR Group by working with Store Development Team.
- Ensure profitability at DC and Retail.
- Compiling of feasibility studies.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE
- Grade 12 Senior Certificate and a Business Management Diploma or equivalent qualification.
- 5 years Retail Management experience at Store Management/ ROM/ DC level with a high level of retail business knowledge.
- Valid driver’s license and willing to travel extensively.
- Finance and business understanding and good knowledge of store operations.
- Good track record of relationship building and strong leadership skills.
- Ability to build strategic relationships and influence.
- SA Citizen with a clean criminal history.
- Attention to detail and quality orientated.
- Good communication and public speaking skills.
- Effective decision-making skills.
- High level of computer literacy (especially MS Excel).
