Sleeping a maximum of 24 guests at a time, the property offers an abundance of activities including nature walks, mountain bike rides, bush walks, and guided horse trails. There is a big cultural influence here, and therefore, the ideal couple should have a keen interest in the history of our country.

Candidate requirements:

Lodge Anchor;

• Must love interacting with guests, be a natural leader, and be an excellent people person, able to anticipate guest needs.
• Confident in lodge operations to manage staff in accordance with Fair Trade principles.
• Ability to work with a hands-on approach is essential – small team.
• Knowledge of South African wine, spirits, and other beverages an advantage.
• Daily coordination of sundowners, surprise tea stops, and outdoor events.
• Please note: A valid driver’s license & PDP are required for this position-non-negotiable.
• Assistance with weekly shopping trips required.
• Good administration & organisational skills are an advantage.

Guide;

• Must have a valid driver’s license & PDP.
• Must have a valid Level 1 First Aid certificate.
• Trails Guiding or Adventure Guiding qualification huge advantage.
• Lead engaging guided tours across historic battlefields, mountains, and nature trails on foot, by MTB, horse, or vehicle.
• Share compelling stories about the area’s military history, cultural and natural environments.
• Ensure guest safety and enhance their experience with expert knowledge and enthusiasm.
• Assist with setting up outdoor activities and hosting sundowners & meals.
• Excellent communication and storytelling skills are essential.
• Outdoor experience essential — hiking, mountain biking, horse riding – good level of fitness required.
• Ability to work flexible hours.
• Assist with field, conservation & maintenance work when not guiding.
