HR Manager Location: East Rand Type: Full-time, Office-based Salary: R48 000 – R50 000 (gross, per month) Benefits: Provident fund, 13th cheque (December) Working Hours: Monday–Friday, 08h00–17h00 Overview We are seeking an experienced HR Manager to oversee a full HR function within a fast-paced, structured environment. This role is ideally suited to a seasoned HR professional with strong interpersonal skills, proven integrity, and the ability to manage a wide range of HR and administrative responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in senior HR roles, be located in the East Rand, and be fully confident handling both operational and strategic HR tasks. Key Responsibilities Recruitment & Onboarding Manage end-to-end recruitment and selection processes. Oversee onboarding, induction, and probationary reviews. HR Administration & Compliance Draft and manage employment contracts and statutory documentation. Create, organise, and maintain employee files. Handle payroll collation (leave, overtime, subsistence, salary changes, provident fund reconciliations). Complete SARS Easy Filing submissions (bi-annually). Manage yearly Employment Equity submissions. Coordinate and submit the Workplace Skills Plan (WSP) and Annual Training Report (ATR). Complete yearly Workmen’s Compensation (Rate of Earnings) submissions. Administer Health & Safety documentation and processes. Employee Relations & Support Provide guidance to branches on HR-related matters. Manage disciplinaries, counselling, and conflict resolution. Liaise with unions and manage industrial relations when required. Represent the company at the CCMA. Collate, record, and manage Injury on Duty (IOD) cases. Operational Support Minute director and management meetings with a high level of integrity and confidentiality. Assist with policy development and updates. Coordinate employee training and development initiatives. Requirements Extensive experience in a senior-level HR role . Based in the East Rand (essential). Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills. Excellent attention to detail and organisational ability. High level of professionalism, discretion, and integrity. Solid understanding of South African labour legislation and HR best practices. Experience with payroll collation and liaising with external payroll consultants. Demonstrated experience in chairing or managing disciplinary and IR processes. Remuneration & Conditions Salary: R48 000 – R50 000 gross per month. Benefits: Provident fund and an annual 13th cheque (December). Leave: 15 days per annum. The company closes for 3 weeks over December/January, during which annual leave must be taken. Additional leave taken during the year is permitted but will be unpaid. Working Hours: 08h00–17h00, Monday to Friday. Environment: Office-based; no hybrid option. Minimal after-hours work required. Annual salary increases: Implemented in June.

Job Description

Minimum Requirements: Bachelors Degree in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, or related field (BCom HR/Equivalent). 5 years HR experience, including 2 years at a senior/managerial level. Strong working knowledge of SA labour legislation (BCEA, LRA, EEA, OHSA, POPIA). Experience in performance management, talent acquisition, and HR operations. Professional HR certification (SABPP or similar) PPRA/FICA/RMCP exposure Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and organisational skills. High attention to detail, accuracy, confidentiality, and professionalism. Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive continuous improvement. Duties include but is not limited to: Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning Lead the full recruitment and workforce planning process. Approve job descriptions, screening criteria, and shortlists. Conduct interviews for key roles and support hiring decisions. Develop and execute talent attraction and employer branding strategies. Oversee reference checks, offer management, and negotiation processes. 2. Onboarding, Culture & Engagement Oversee end-to-end onboarding and induction programmes. Strengthen organisational culture and employee engagement initiatives. Drive internal communication, recognition, and wellbeing programmes. Manage exit processes and implement retention insights. 3. Performance Management & People Development Lead probation and performance review cycles. Support managers with conducting meaningful performance discussions. Identify skills gaps and oversee training and development plans. Implement talent pathways, succession planning, and growth initiatives. 4. Compliance & Risk Management Ensure compliance with labour legislation and internal HR policies. Manage HR, PPRA, CPD, and employment records and registers. Lead disciplinary, grievance, incapacity, and performance processes. Represent the company at CCMA (conciliation & arbitration). Conduct investigations and maintain comprehensive case records. Oversee RMCP and FICA HR-related compliance requirements. Conduct internal audits and manage external audit readiness. 5. HR Operations & Reporting Oversee HR information systems, HR data accuracy, and reporting. Manage leave administration, payroll-related inputs, and employee files. Develop, update, and enforce HR policies, procedures, and employment contracts. Prepare HR dashboards, analytics, and board-level reports. 6. Leadership, Advisory & Stakeholder Support Serve as a strategic advisor to leadership on people strategy. Strengthen leadership capability through coaching and support. Ensure effective HR service delivery and resolution of employee queries. Liaise with external partners (legal, compliance, payroll, training providers, etc.). Key Outcomes & Success Measures Improved retention and reduced turnover. Efficient recruitment turnaround and high-quality hires. Strong compliance and audit readiness. Enhanced performance culture and productivity. High employee engagement and culture alignment. Strengthened leadership capability. Accurate, professional, and efficient HR operations.
