Job Summary We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Draughtsman for our engineering client in Johannesburg. The candidate will be fundamental in creating technical drawings, both hand drawings and computer-aided design (CAD) blueprints for various structures. Their responsibilities include building models, sketches, drawings, and blueprints using 2D and 3D design software. Key Responsibilities Drawings Familiarize him/herself with the Companys equipment so as to effectively utilise all elements in designs. Produce working drawings to assist with logistical planning and the compilation of equipment lists. Prepare working drawings of confirmed jobs for the Technicians to provide a visual reference from which to complete the installation. Produce conceptual drawings/designs as required. Create and update a library of standard structures drawings. Develop and maintain an archive of all CAD drawings generated by the other branch. Create new designs for stages/structures as required. Design within the parameters of safety regulations. Keep abreast of the latest CAD technology. Maintain current working knowledge of structural standards, regulations and current design factors for equipment used in the erection of structures. Assist management with any other duties as may be required . Matric, Preferable Diploma Engineer Preferably – 4 – 5 years experience within a mechanical environment. Intermediate experience of CAD software and techniques Preferable good working knowledge of Fluid Power Drivers License. English spoken fluently and written, Afrikaans advantageous. Microsoft Office.

1. Preparation of Technical Drawings: Assist in the creation of 2D and 3D drawings using computer-aided design (AutoCAD) PTC Creo 3D software/Siemens NX . Prepare drawings that adhere to project specifications, standards, and codes. Produce detailed construction drawings, layouts, and designs for engineering projects. 2. Design Support: Assist the Mechanical Engineer and Management with modifications and updates to designs. Perform basic design calculations and checks as requested by the Mechanical Engineer and Management. 3. Documentation & Revision Control : Maintain accurate records of design revisions and updates. Ensure proper filing of drawings, documentation, and design specifications. 4. Collaboration & Coordination: Work closely with Engineers, Management and other team members to discuss design requirements and changes. Participate in project meetings and provide input on design-related issues. 5. Quality Control: Ensure that all drawings are produced with high accuracy and attention to detail. Follow company and industry standards for drawing layouts and specifications. 6. Site Visits (if applicable): Conduct factory visits to gather data and verify measurements for accurate drawing creation. Assist in resolving any issues related to design discrepancies during manufacturing and repair work.

Key Responsibilities: Produce accurate and detailed customer-specific technical drawings for fabrication and production. Prepare drawings from PDFs, sketches, or sample parts provided by customers. Ensure all drawings comply with company and industry standards. Work closely with sales and production teams to ensure drawings are accurate and feasible. Assist in dimensioning and verifying drawings for accuracy prior to production. Update and maintain drawing records and design revisions. Provide support in developing templates, layouts, and new product concepts. Review designs to optimize material usage and improve production efficiency. Liaise with clients where necessary to clarify technical requirements. Requirements and Qualifications: Grade 12 Certificate (Matric). Relevant Draughtsman qualification. Minimum 2 years experience in a similar role within the sheet metal or fabrication industry (advantageous). Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential. Experience in SigmaNEST advantageous. Experience with SolidWorks or Autodesk Inventor advantageous. Must reside in the East Rand area. Must have own reliable transport.
