The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and optimising the dispatch operations that support both manufacturing and distribution of pet-related products to retail and specialist outlets across South Africa. Responsibilities:

• Coordinate daily dispatch schedules ensuring timely delivery of goods from the manufacturing and distribution centres.

• Assign vehicles and drivers efficiently with consideration for load, route optimisation, and service priorities.

• Monitor delivery progress; address delays or deviations proactively.

• Communicate with production, warehouse, transport, and customer service teams to align operations.

• Ensure all dispatch documentation is accurate (orders, PODs, invoices, etc.).

• Enforce safety and compliance standards for vehicles, drivers, and goods.

• Track performance metrics such as on-time deliveries, vehicle utilisation, and customer satisfaction.

• Identify process improvements to reduce costs, improve turnaround times, and enhance reliability.

Requirements:

• Matric / Grade 12 qualification.

• Minimum 2-4 years experience in dispatch control, transport operations, or similar roles.

• Strong route planning, fleet allocation, and scheduling skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with dispatch tracking systems advantageous.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Strong organisational skills and ability to multitask under pressure.

• Experience in the pet products or FMCG distribution environment is a plus.
