This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional to manage end-to-end payroll across local and international operationsensuring accuracy, compliance, and exceptional service delivery within a dynamic and growing business.

About the Role

As the Payroll Administrator, you will manage the payroll process for the South African entity and liaise with global payroll providers for international staff. Youll ensure timely, accurate salary processing, handle employee queries, and collaborate closely with internal Finance and HR teams to deliver a seamless payroll experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Run full monthly payroll for South African employees (via Sage 300 People)

• Manage inputs for foreign payroll processing (e.g. Mauritius) through local payroll partners

• Update employee records and payroll data (salary changes, benefits, deductions)

• Respond to employee queries on payroll, UIF, PAYE, and other deductions

• Prepare employment verification letters and monthly reporting for Finance and HR

• Ensure compliance with relevant payroll legislation and company policies

What Youll Bring

• BCom or equivalent degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business

• Solid understanding of South African payroll tax and labour regulations

• Proficiency in Sage (or similar payroll software) and Excel

• Strong administrative and numerical accuracy skills

• Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism

• Excellent communication skills in English

Nice to Have

• Previous experience with Mauritius or other international payroll

• Familiarity with multi-jurisdiction payroll processing

• Exposure to HR systems or workflows in a fintech or SaaS environment

As a Payroll Administrator, youll be responsible for maintaining payroll accuracy, resolving employee queries, managing system updates, and ensuring all statutory requirements are met. Youll be the go-to liaison between HR, Finance, and third-party payroll vendors, playing a crucial role in ensuring payroll runs smoothly and compliantly across the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Onboard new employees and verify ID, banking, and tax information

• Process and maintain payroll data in Sage People300 & ESS

• Liaise with vendors for background checks and manage invoice processing

• Apply for income tax numbers and tax directives via SARS eFiling

• Administer staff loans, advances, and Paycurve deductions

• Handle leave processing, Jira ticket queries, and employee updates

• Prepare and process monthly referral fees in collaboration with the recruitment team

• Export payroll and employee data reports (e.g., terminations, banking, variances)

• Administer ESS access, password resets, and payroll system permissions

• Act as liaison with VAT IT and external Sage consultants (T3T)

• Assist with audit preparation and employee document back scanning (DocuVision)

What Youll Bring

• Proficient in Sage People300 & ESS

• Strong financial and computer literacy, particularly Excel

• Excellent administrative and time management skills

• High attention to detail and confidentiality

• Sound knowledge of South African labour law and BCEA

• Effective communication and problem-solving abilities

• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines under pressure

Nice to Have

• Experience using Jira ticketing systems

• Prior involvement in DocuVision or similar digital HR file projects

• Exposure to external payroll software vendors and integrations
