Pretoria: Automation Engineer

Job Description: Develop, test, and optimise automation and control systems in a research environment. Conduct laboratory and pilot-scale testing of automated processes. Analyse system performance data and support continuous improvement initiatives. Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and structural engineering teams. Prepare detailed technical documentation and test reports. Skills & Experience: Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in automation, control systems, or industrial engineering roles. Strong knowledge of PLCs, SCADA, and industrial communication protocols. Hands-on experience with system testing, troubleshooting, and optimisation. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Effective communication and documentation skills. Qualification: Masters degree (MEng/MSc) in Automation, Control Systems, Electrical Engineering, or similar. Bachelors degree in Electrical, Mechatronic, or Control Engineering essential. Only South African Residents or individuals with a relevant South African work permit will be considered.
