Job Description

Job Title: Android Developer

We are seeking an experienced Android developer to join our team based in Pretoria. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in native Android development, specifically with Kotlin and Java.

Requirements:

Minimum Education:
National Senior Certificate
Diploma and/or degree in IT/Engineering/Programming (desirable)

Minimum Applicable Experience: 5 years as an Android Developer

Required Nature of Experience:
The successful candidate should be a hands-on software developer responsible for the development and maintenance of one or more projects.

Essential Skills and Knowledge:

Experience with native Android development, including Kotlin and Java
Strong knowledge of Android development and its supporting systems
Proficient in Kotlin (minimum 2 years experience)
Good understanding of development practices utilizing modern design patterns using software architectures: MVP, MVVM, Clean Architecture
Knowledge of storage mechanisms, threading, lifecycles
Understanding of common third-party frameworks/libraries available and integration experience
Strong UI development experience with developing for dynamic screen support
Experience with RESTful API integration
Solid understanding of the full mobile development life cycle within an Agile environment
Atlassian JIRA software experience is beneficial
Good understanding of Bluetooth on Android is beneficial
Knowledge of RxAndroid, RxJava, and RxKotlin is beneficial

Additional Requirements:

The candidate should have a solid understanding of Git and be well-versed in the full mobile development life cycle.
