About the Role

Hire Resolve’s client is currently seeking a dedicated Unit Manager specializing in Maternity to join their team in Cape Town, WC. In this role, you will oversee operational practices while ensuring the delivery of exceptional maternal care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead the Maternity Unit, ensuring high standards of patient care and safety.
  • Supervise and support a team of nurses and healthcare professionals.
  • Develop and implement unit protocols and procedures in line with best practices.
  • Maintain compliance with health care regulations and institutional policies.
  • Oversee the administrative functions of the unit, including staffing, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Ensure effective communication with patients, families, and colleagues to enhance patient satisfaction.
  • Monitor patient outcomes and implement quality improvement initiatives.
  • Promote a collaborative and supportive work environment focused on team development.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse qualification with valid SANC registration.
  • A minimum of 5 years of nursing experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial role within a maternity unit.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to effectively manage a diverse team.
  • In-depth knowledge of maternity care best practices and legal guidelines.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in managing budgets and resources effectively.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and growth.

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse qualification with valid SANC registration (valid SANC registration is a requirement)
