About the Role
A growing public sector consulting environment is seeking a Senior Accountant to partner with that magnifies, simplifies and solves deep business challenges, and integrates with existing teams. This role suits a confident professional who can work independently, guide others, and take ownership of public sector financial outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversight of financial reporting aligned to GRAP and PFMA
- Reviewing and guiding work performed by junior team members
- Managing audit processes and liaising with auditors
- Supporting municipalities with compliance, reporting, and controls
- Providing financial insight and problem-solving on complex matters
Requirements
- Completed Accounting degree
- Completed articles (SAICA / SAIPA)
- Registered or eligible with a professional accounting body
- 5–10 years accounting experience, with public sector exposure
- Strong working knowledge of GRAP, PFMA, municipal finance
- Comfortable working across multiple projects and locations
