About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Transport Broker / Logistics Consultant to join our team in Stellenbosch. As a key member of our logistics operation, you will be responsible for negotiating sales deals and rates with customers and suppliers, managing budgets and margins, and ensuring effective transportation of goods. With at least 2-4 years of experience in the transport industry, we are looking for someone who is knowledgeable about the road transport industry and has a strong understanding of commodity trends and market fluctuations.
Key Responsibilities
• Negotiate new contracts with clients and transporters
• Analyse commodity trends and adapt to market fluctuations
• Manage volumes allocated to the company
• Understand the running cost of a vehicle to determine CPKs
• Keep track of daily and monthly budgets
• Build relationships with new and existing clients, including regular visits
• Identify key role players at loading and off-loading points
• Develop relationship with current transport, clients, and truck drivers
Requirements
- At least 2 -4 years experience in a similar role within the transport industry
- Strong understanding of the road transport industry
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure
Qualifications
- Relevant qualification (degree or diploma) preferred
- Existing customer book is beneficial but not required
