About the Role
Hire Resolve’s client is seeking an experienced IT Delivery Manager to join their team in Sandton. This role involves strategic financial and resource management across both projects and business-as-usual operations, as well as contributing to IT and architectural strategy. The successful candidate will play a key part in driving team progress and ensuring target achievement.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage departmental budgets, procurement, and resource allocation.
- Monitor software licenses to ensure compliance.
- Contribute to business cases and budget formulations.
- Provide strategic input to departmental business plans and IT/business strategies.
- Translate IT strategy into actionable roadmaps for application evolution.
- Identify and mitigate risks to project timing, resourcing, and value realization.
- Estimate effort and timeframes for backlog delivery.
- Facilitate on-time and within-budget delivery using Agile methods and IT governance.
- Deliver business features as defined by stakeholders and product owners.
- Ensure solutions align with JSE architecture and technology roadmaps.
- Manage team delivery against prioritized backlogs and timelines.
- Schedule and coordinate solution design reviews.
- Ensure adherence to quality assurance practices, methodologies, and documentation standards.
- Drive continuous improvement in Scrum practices.
- Participate in software development estimation standards.
- Build and maintain relationships with product owners, stakeholders, and suppliers.
- Provide input into RFIs/RFPs and participate in solution selection.
- Manage vendor contracts and service level agreements (SLAs).
- Support cross-business and IT unit alignment.
- Ensure optimal enablement of 2nd and 3rd line application support and batch operations.
- Oversee identification and resolution of technical problems within SLAs.
- Contribute to problem analysis (RCA) for production incidents.
- Participate in release train planning and production deployments.
- Maintain System Operations Manuals and support business continuity processes.
- Implement tools for optimal support and operations.
- Champion automation and AI/ML techniques for operational efficiency.
- Encourage innovation and team engagement for business optimization.
- Create and implement staff and resource plans with clear accountability.
- Recruit, onboard, and develop team members to ensure required skills and expertise.
- Manage team performance, including setting goals, conducting reviews, and providing coaching.
- Foster a motivated, respectful, and collaborative team environment.
