About the Role

Hire Resolve is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Accountant for an esteemed firm based in the picturesque coastal town of Hermanus. This is an excellent opportunity to join a stable and reputable organization and contribute significantly to their financial operations.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee and manage the full accounting function, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and fixed assets.
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting standards.
Ensure timely and accurate processing of all financial transactions.
Manage and reconcile bank accounts and other balance sheet items.
Assist with the preparation and coordination of audits, both internal and external.
Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures.
Analyze financial data and provide insightful reports to management.
Ensure compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations, including VAT and income tax.
Prepare and submit statutory returns.
Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes.
Mentor and supervise junior accounting staff, as required.
Maintain accurate and organized financial records.
Ad hoc tasks and projects as required.

Requirements

A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a relevant field.
Proven experience as a Senior Accountant, with a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
Solid knowledge of relevant accounting software and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

A professional accounting qualification (e.g., SAICA, SAIPA) is highly advantageous.
