About the Role
Hire Resolve is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Accountant for an esteemed firm based in the picturesque coastal town of Hermanus. This is an excellent opportunity to join a stable and reputable organization and contribute significantly to their financial operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the full accounting function, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and fixed assets.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting standards.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of all financial transactions.
- Manage and reconcile bank accounts and other balance sheet items.
- Assist with the preparation and coordination of audits, both internal and external.
- Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures.
- Analyze financial data and provide insightful reports to management.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations, including VAT and income tax.
- Prepare and submit statutory returns.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Mentor and supervise junior accounting staff, as required.
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records.
- Ad hoc tasks and projects as required.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a relevant field.
- Proven experience as a Senior Accountant, with a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Solid knowledge of relevant accounting software and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Qualifications
- A professional accounting qualification (e.g., SAICA, SAIPA) is highly advantageous.
