About the Role

The PRO Personnel Employment Agency is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to join our team in Steelpoort. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing construction projects, overseeing engineering drawings, and ensuring strict adherence to Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) requirements. With a minimum of 5 years’ experience in construction management within mining or mineral processing environments, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality results on live mining sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Initiate and plan construction projects in line with the Client’s project management framework
• Support tender processes, contractor selection, and site mobilisation
• Manage day-to-day construction execution, quality inspections, progress reporting, and contractor performance
• Control schedules, costs, risks, variations, early warnings, and compensation events
• Oversee engineering drawings, QA/QC, and construction compliance
• Lead pre-commissioning, cold commissioning, and support hot commissioning and handover
• Ensure strict adherence to SHE requirements and Mine Health and Safety Act compliance
• Manage stakeholder communication and contribute to lessons learned and project close-out

Requirements

• Grade 12 with Mathematics and Physical Science
• Recognised Engineering Trade (Section 13 or 26), or Diploma/Degree in Construction Management
• Minimum 5 years’ construction management experience within mining or mineral processing environments
• Proven experience managing civil and construction activities on live mining sites
• Strong contractor, site, and stakeholder management capability
• Proficient in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and MS Project
• Solid understanding of construction planning, work packaging, and commercial principles
• Valid Certificate of Fitness and completion of site-specific induction

Qualifications

• Completed Grade 12 with Mathematics and Physical Science
• Recognised Engineering Trade (Section 13 or 26), Diploma/Degree in Construction Management
