About the Role
We are seeking a Qualified Diesel Mechanic with extensive experience in the mining and heavy equipment industry. The ideal candidate will have strong technical and diagnostic expertise, hands-on experience with underground mining machinery and heavy-duty equipment, and a proven track record of performing reliable, cost-effective maintenance and repairs in high-pressure environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on mining and heavy-duty diesel equipment.
- Perform diagnostics, fault-finding, and repairs on engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
- Carry out engine rebuilds, overhauls, and component replacements.
- Ensure compliance with mining safety and maintenance standards.
- Maintain accurate service records and job cards.
- Respond to breakdowns and field service requests efficiently.
- Collaborate with team members to minimize equipment downtime and maintain productivity.
Requirements
- Minimum 8 years experience in diesel mechanics, including mining equipment
- Proven experience with underground machinery such as drill rigs, bolters, loaders, UVs, and dump trucks
- Cummins engine training or certification is highly advantageous
- Valid drivers license (Code 8) and own reliable transport
- Clear criminal record
- Must be medically fit for mine work
- Basic computer literacy (MS Word & diagnostic programs)

Salary & Benefits
- The salary range is between R800,000 to R1,200,000 per annum.
