Sales Assistant

Van Schaik Bookstore needs a sales assistant who possesses good interpersonal and administrative skills and can function well under pressure.
Reporting to the manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Optimisation and stimulation of in the shop
- Customer services at the counter
- Handling of customer enquiries: telephone, fax and e-mail
- Handling quotations for individual customers, institutions and libraries
- Applying the companys customer service policy at all levels
- Processing of new and inter-branch stock
- Customer service and processing customer enquiries at the pay point
- Maintain administrative process (customer orders, pro-formas, enquiries)
- Applying the companys stock control policy
Requirements:
- Senior certificate
- Computer literate (MS Office suite) and MS Outlook
- Good communication skills and excellent telephone etiquette
- Proficient in English
- Previous experience in an academic bookstore environment is a strong recommendation
We offer a market related cost to company package inclusive of membership of a medical aid and Provident fund.
