About the Role
Hire Resolve’s client seeks an experienced Turbine Engineer/Technician for wind turbine construction and commissioning tasks in Noupoort, Northern Cape. The successful candidate will oversee, monitor, and inspect turbine erection processes to ensure compliance with safety standards and project specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Review contractor method statements and verify documents.
- Ensure proper documentation management through the Project Electronic Document Management System (EDMS).
- Assist in preparing project documentation and review OEM equipment drawings for compliance.
- Oversee turbine component handling, assembly, and erection.
- Provide technical support during wind farm construction.
- Inspect equipment, material, and erected turbines for compliance with specifications.
- Establish punch list systems for remedial actions.
- Ensure training of contractors on erection standards.
- Witness turbine testing and commissioning activities.
- Monitor turbine compliance with relevant standards.
- Assist in commissioning activities and adhere to ethical conduct standards.
- Support HSE Officers in enforcing the HSE Plan.
- Ensure compliance with environmental management plans (EMPrs).
- Attend meetings with contractors and collect daily diaries.
- Support project progress tracking and milestone payment claims.
- Communicate effectively with project teams and stakeholders.
- Fulfill construction reporting obligations and support internal and external reporting.
- Review technical acceptance procedures and assist in planning activities.
- Supervise work areas, adhere to schedules, and oversee milestone achievements.
- Coordinate with Turbine Supply, BOP Contractor, Owners Engineer, and adjacent wind projects.
Requirements
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering or Construction (BSc, BTech, or equivalent).
- Minimum 5 years of experience as Turbine Engineer/Technician in renewable projects.
- Proactive with strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and report writing skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Valid drivers license and medical fitness are required.
