This role is designed for a senior finance professional who understands the precision , regulation, and reporting demands of the public sector . Youll operate at a strategic level, working closely with senior management and key stakeholders, while ensuring accurate, compliant, and insightful financial reporting. The position involves national travel and offers exposure to large-scale public sector operations, making it ideal for someone who enjoys both boardroom impact and on-the-ground engagement. Job Description

The Financial Manager will be responsible for the full finance function , ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong financial controls, and meaningful financial insight to support business operations. This role requires a hands-on leader who can balance day-to-day financial management with strategic and operational finance support . The ideal candidate will bring strong operations finance experience , with proven exposure to stock management, foreign currency transactions, and supply chain-linked finance , and will be comfortable partnering closely with operational teams. Key Responsibilities: Full responsibility for the end-to-end finance function Preparation and review of monthly management accounts, including detailed analysis and commentary Acting as a finance business partner to operations, procurement, and supply chain teams Providing financial input into operational decision-making and project costing Financial oversight of inventory and stock accounting, including valuation and cost of sales Reviewing and reconciling stock movements and variances Job Experience and Skills Required: Completed BCom Degree (Accounting or similar) Completed articles 5 years relevant financial and operational finance experience Proven experience in: Operations / commercial finance Stock and inventory accounting Foreign currency (forex) exposure Experience within the energy, sustainability, engineering, or infrastructure sectors will be highly advantageous Apply now!

Minimum Requirements: Relevant accounting qualification (BCom Accounting / similar) Completed articles (SAICA / SAIPA / CIMA or equivalent) Solid post-articles accounting experience within a managerial role Leadership or team management experience Strong understanding of operational finance, debtors, creditors, and group accounting Experience working with accounting software systems Exposure to payroll, budgeting, and management accounts Long-term career mindset (not a short-term move) Strong work ethic and hands-on approach Ability to see both detail and big-picture business impact Professional maturity and integrity Adaptable, collaborative, and solutions-focused Comfortable starting hands-on while building strategic responsibility Duties will include but are not limited to: Work closely with the CFO on all financial and strategic matters Act as 2IC to the CFO, providing cover and support across the finance function Oversee day-to-day finance operations across multiple entities within the group Review and support debtors, creditors, and cash flow management Involvement in GRV processing, reconciliations, and operational controls Support payroll processes (advantageous) Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls Develop a strong understanding of the full business operations Mentor and support junior finance team members Step into leadership responsibilities as part of a structured succession plan Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
