About the Role

A well-established legal practice is seeking a skilled and motivated Associate with solid experience in Personal Injury law. This opportunity is ideal for a driven legal professional who is confident managing matters independently while also leading and supporting a team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage personal injury case files from inception to finalization
  • Assess claims and provide strategic legal advice to prospective clients
  • Draft, review, and amend legal documents (claims, pleadings, motions, discovery, demand letters, subpoenas, memoranda, etc.)
  • Conduct legal research, particularly in case law and premises liability
  • Gather and analyze evidence, including insurance policies, medical records, and expenses
  • Liaise with clients, experts, insurers, medical professionals, and other stakeholders
  • Negotiate settlements in clients’ best interests, including with insurers, RAF, and State Attorney
  • Represent clients in hearings, trials, mediations, depositions, and other proceedings
  • Prepare for court, including trial preparation, exhibits, and witness coordination
  • Maintain accurate case records on case management systems
  • Manage and supervise a team of legal support staff
  • Act as primary client contact, providing updates and legal guidance

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years post-admission experience in Personal Injury law
  • Proven experience in handling personal injury cases
  • Proficiency in case management systems, including Caselines and Court Online
  • Working knowledge of the AJS accounting system
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel and Word), internet, and email

  • Formal education in Law (LLB or equivalent)
