About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Hotel Duty Manager to join our team at Irene Country Lodge. As a key member of our hospitality team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the hotel during assigned shifts, ensuring exceptional guest service, smooth interdepartmental coordination, and adherence to hotel standards and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the overall operation of the hotel during the shift
- Ensure high levels of guest satisfaction and promptly resolve guest complaints
- Supervise Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, and Maintenance activities
- Handle emergency situations and ensure safety procedures are followed
- Conduct daily shift briefings with department heads
- Monitor staff performance and provide on-the-spot guidance and support
- Assist with staff scheduling and attendance monitoring
- Ensure accurate reporting and handover between shifts
- Monitor cleanliness, presentation, and service quality throughout the hotel
- Assist in managing room occupancy, VIP arrivals, and special requests
Requirements
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in hotel operations, with supervisory experience
- Strong knowledge of Front Office, Housekeeping, and Food & Beverage operations
- Excellent leadership and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
- Computer literate with knowledge of hotel management systems
Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Hospitality Management or related field
