About the Role

Hydropower Systems is seeking an experienced Electrician to join our team in Orkney and Welkom, South Africa. As a key member of our electrical maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our electrical systems. With your strong fault-finding skills and knowledge of electrical safety standards, you will play a crucial role in maintaining our mining operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment
• Fault-finding and diagnostics on electrical components
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, mine regulations, and company procedures
• Conduct preventative maintenance and inspections
• Support commissioning and operational activities on-site
• Complete accurate technical reports and documentation

Requirements

• Qualified Electrician (Red Seal / Trade Test essential)
• Minimum 35 years experience in an industrial or mining environment
• Must have underground experience
• Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
• Knowledge of electrical safety standards and compliance
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Valid drivers licence (advantageous)
